Tinhorn Creek 'Oldfield Reserve' Rose, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Levity, zesty, spunky.
Cabernet Franc is a Tinhorn Creek flagship grape, they excel with the variety so why not use it to make rose.
The 2020 was pressed after 24 hours of skin contact with the juice, which is why this vintage has a bolder hue (the image shown does not portray the actual colour).
This vintage the colour leans ruby, with brick undertones, and the nose delights with pink grapefruit, black currents, orange zest and honey along with a suggestion of strawberry bubblegum and peach pit. It's got spunk and personality. The palate has levity and flavours of wild berries, tealeaf and citrus peel. It's also slick and has muscle on the finish.
Pair:pastas or pizza, veggies burgers, cheese and charcuterie, grilled fish.
